Formal vs. Informal "You"

French has two words for "you". Use tu with friends, family, children, or classmates. Use vous with teachers, strangers, elders, or anyone you respect formally — and always with groups of more than one person.

Comment tu t'appelles ?  →  informal (friend)
Comment vous appelez-vous ?  →  formal (office, teacher)

हिन्दी: "तुम" और "आप" की तरह — "tu" दोस्तों के लिए, "vous" बड़ों के लिए।
